It’s been a week since I last tried doing anything with my new homelab rack and it’s still in a mess. Since my previous approch wasn’t working, I’ve decided to try a completely different set of tools, and I figured why not pick up a new skill while I’m at it. I’ve heard a lot about Ansible, and it seems like now is a good time to try it out.
With the hardware all set up, it was time to start migrating the software from my old setup. Right now, all of my services are running on a single machine that runs Ubuntu Server. It’s worked well for the last few months, but now I’m going to moving to a set things up in VMs.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been receiving the various parts that I ordered for my DIY 10-inch rack. As I mentioned in my last post, I was planning on moving my homelab into a rack, and I’ve finally gotten around to doing it.
It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been working on a few things, like an RC Car project, but that’s not what I’m writing about today. I might get around to writing about that project in the future, but today I want to talk about my homelab.
It’s finally time to add some “useful” services to my Homelab. Everything so far has been about managing the server “infrastructure”, but now it’s time to add services that I actually intend to use on a regular basis. The first service I’m going to add is Nextcloud.
